SUGGESTIONS FOR 1ST TIME COACHES

All of these items are for the parents.  Keep the Parents Happy!

1.                  You will have to schedule practices days and times and location for practices.

2.                  You will have to schedule team snacks for after practices and games.

3.                  Give everyone the website of http://leecountyga.com

4.                  You will receive a package that explains the rules of the sport and team formulation and all-stars.  Look over that info GOOD.

5.                  After you get your team, get a list of all of the players, parents names and phone numbers and give them out to each player.

6.                  Find out transportation problems if there are any.

7.                  You will have to complete the uniform, so get pants or shorts samples to try on so that you have time to get them ordered before the season begins.

8.                  Give each of your parents a copy of the rules, the more info that they know the less they are on your back.

9.                  Let your parents know that you are the head coach and you make the final decision.

10.              You will be the ultimate person in charge and LCRD will contact you if anything is wrong.

THINGS TO TEACH YOUR PLAYERS

The Rules of the Game

Sportsmanship

Respect

Proper Mechanics and Fundamentals

To have Class

To have Fun

Winning is not everything

How to Lose

Teamwork

If you can go over all of these main points then your team should be competitive.  Remember that LCRD judges success not by the win and loss record, but by how many of your players on your team return to play another season.  We want children to enjoy their recreational experience and want to come back and play some more.
